My students are some of the most strong willed children I have met. I call each student in and out of my classroom my Ohana. "Ohana means family, and family means nobody gets left behind or forgotten." This saying is from the movie, Lilo and Stitch. My students and I live by this motto and stick together as a family. Most of the time, I buy my students materials. Over the past 10 years of teaching in the district, I have always given my students hugs before the day begins and when they leave me to head home. This gesture of donating to my project sends a message to my students that they are loved. Moreover, my class Ohana deserves the best and should "never be left behind or forgotten."
