Well-loved library in desperate need of updating! Due to budget cuts, the libraries in my school district receiving no funding from the district. We rely on Book Fairs and donations to stock the libraries, which makes it difficult to add current informational books or timely and interesting fiction. For example, the non-fiction books are at least 30 years old. In the fiction books, we may have book 2 and book 4 in a series, but not the entire series. I have repaired over 4,160 books in the library so students can continue to read them. If teachers wish to use library resources during classwork, I often can't accomodate them because I can't order the reference sources required. Libraries are living organism requiring constant updating--which is almost impossible without adequate funding!
