My students have a range of special needs, including significant delays in speech and language skills. They communicate in many ways other than talking - their smiles and bright eyes speak volumes. They need help to expand their communication beyond those smiles. It's my privilege to provide that help, and my honor to be there the first time one of them expresses himself, be it through words or by touching a picture on a communication board. Once a child really sees the power of communication, the sky is the limit.
