Montessori education is all about hands-on, real life application. I would really like to provide the students with this by having a reptile in our classroom. It will be their responsibility to care for it daily. They will also be allowed to observe it and take it home over long breaks. They will get first hand experience in the daily needs of an animal and they will be able to learn a ton about reptiles! Kids love anything gross! I would love to give them the chance to dissect an owl pellet. It would be a "gross experience" that they would revel in.
