Many of my high school students have severe dyslexia, which means they continue to struggle with letter sound connection, sounding out larger words, tracking words on the page, and reading at grade level (many are reading at a 3rd grade level).
My students are audio learners and if they hear the information they are able to retain the information. There is a disconnect between text books and my students' reading ability. If my students could have access to technology that would allow them to read independently it would boost their confidence which in turn would boost their personal success across all content areas.
