A large percentage of our students fall below the poverty line, yet still come to school everyday with a positive outlook and they are eager to learn. My students are hungry for knowledge and skills, and it is such an honor to be one of the many educators called to facilitate their learning. I am particularly proud to be educating 2nd graders in my classroom; as they are building a knowledge-base and habits to prepare themselves for state-wide testing next year. The thing I love most about my school is how we integrate so many different methods of teaching. From books to guest speakers, field trips to technology; each and every one of our students is presented with knowledge in multiple avenues.
