This school that has become my second home for the past 7 years services a very rewarding, challenging, and deserving group of kids. A little look at our demographics indicates that 73% of our students are designated as being economically disadvantaged and 45% are Non-Native English speakers. With high percentages in both these categories we face challenges everyday. We have students in general education classrooms, bilingual classrooms, and two-way immersion classrooms. The students that I work with specifically are the GT and High Achieving students. These are students who have proven or shown that they are a little different in their thinking or they are ready to be challenged; ready for something outside of their normal classroom. That is where I come in. I work with each grade level 180 minutes per week. The students are pulled out of their classroom to come work with me on STEM Projects, Robotics, Math Challenges, social emotional activities, and creativity exercises .
