My students are unique, endearing, and lovable children that inspire me every day. They are primarily children with autism, but also in my classroom are students with developmental delays and other health impairments. They span from grades kindergarten through 5th grade.
My program is an "inclusion program," meaning that my students who have significant academic and social/behavior needs are given access to the general education classroom, as opposed to having to learn in a classroom separate from other children. My school is an exceptionally accepting place where all teachers strive to provide students with special needs access to the same education as those who are typically-developing.
My students, regardless of their disabilities or needs, are accepted & loved as part of their classroom as a whole. The benefits of inclusion are endless for all students, teachers & parents, as well as the community as a whole. My students are incredibly special children who deserve the world!
