Every student deserves the opportunity to learn and grow without worrying about how to pay for or where their school supplies come from. My students seek opportunities to add their own creative touches to their schoolwork and assignments. Our school recognizes this desire and welcomes the inclusion of the arts into every aspect of learning. In my classroom we often step outside the box of simply reading and writing about what we read by creating storyboards of alternate endings to books or quite literally drawing out aspects of the theme or language of the text.
These school and art supplies will allow my students to both learn and show their creativity without worrying about collecting the supplies themselves. Having a classroom set of supplies will mean less time is taken searching through backpacks and bags for personal supplies which will help all students to focus more quickly on the tasks at hand.
