My students are funny, sweet, kind, curious, talkative, energetic young people. They are wonderfully talented. I learn from them every single day. These kids are my family and I love them dearly. They love to make music and especially love the opportunity to play instruments!
Most of my students cannot afford music lessons. Some can barely afford basic necessities. We have so many students on free and reduced lunch, that it is actually more cost effective to offer free lunch for everyone. We are considered title one. The majority of our kids qualify as economically disadvantaged.
According to our school song, we are the best ever school in the southwest USA. I would have to agree! We have a wonderful school with administrators and teachers that support music and an amazing student body.
