We currently use the floor with pieces of tape while other class rooms have beautifully marked carpets with educational site words and pictures. Our taped floors is a temporary fix since the tape comes up or gets torn daily while people walk over it. The students have asked about it before, " Mr. Leyton, why don't we have a carpet?" I never have a good answer, I would like to have a place on our floor where the students can meet and take pride in during learning session.
This is a basic need of the classroom and I feel it is very important for the students to have regular place to meet that is specially marked or labelled, it is their space during carpet time.
