I teach in a public elementary school in which nearly 1/2 of the student population is receiving either special education or English language support services. More than 75% of students in this school receive free or reduced-price lunch. In spite of these factors, I teach students who genuinely want to learn. They demonstrate excellent attendance and a willingness to participate in activities and have new experiences.
