These second graders are from many different backgrounds, cultures, and have a huge range of personality differences. They are eager to learn in our inquiry-based learning units. They are curious and passionate about helping each other. They are polite to one another and recognize learning differences. They have a strong understanding of justice and are very empathetic towards one another. They are eager to help out in the classroom and the community and deeply want to know more about the world. They are learning to make meaningful connections in the texts that they read to themselves, other stories, and the world. They are learning to be passionate readers and make heart connections with all stories that they encounter. They are some of the sweetest students I have ever worked with and love sharing what makes them special and unique. They are not afraid to ask questions or get into their learning deeply.
