The students enjoy listening to stories and reading on their own. Their individual reading abilities vary greatly, but we are all able to have rich conversations with the books we read aloud together. I have chosen quality literature books and each book has a lesson designed for that book which includes a teaching point and guiding questions. I will guide the students in rich conversations about the themes, ideas and information in these books. The students will learn to back up their opinions and ideas with evidence from the text. The students will learn to interact with each other in conversation, not just the teacher.

About my class
