I teach kindergarten in a very low-income urban school. Most of my students enter kindergarten, having no preschool experience. They are eager to learn! They excitedly sit on the floor and listen to stories being read, sing songs, participate in math activities, read books, and work in groups on the floor. Unfortunately, the old carpets were ripped up and replaced with hard floors.
