My students are excited to come to science everyday, it is one of their favorite subjects because of its hands on nature. This year our district has invested money into a brand new science curriculum to increase the interest level in science. This new curriculum has even more hands on experiments that are more in depth than what they are use to. Because of this we need a more temperature controlled environment with an ndoor/Outdoor Portable Evaporative Air Cooler. Currently our building does not have air conditioning and on any given day the temperature can be upwards of 100 degrees. This is not conducive to running a long term science experiment.
Many of our experiments involve plants, dissections and observing animals in habitats. Running these experiments take a lot of effort on the students part and it would be very disappointing for them to come in and have their hard work ruined because of something that was out of their control.
In addition, having students working in an environment that is extremely hot is not conducive to learning. The student's number one complaint about coming into science is that it is hot.
