I teach a moderate-to-severe special day class. My classroom consist of 6 boys and 6 girls. I have six first graders, three second graders and three third graders. I have wonderful students who are eager and ready to learn. My students face many challenges. Many of them have a difficult time coping with social interactions, have speech impairments that impede learning, and suffer from intellectual disability.
These impairments present many challenges in both academic and functional learning; however, they does not discourage my students from trying and giving it their best effort. I am truly amazed by my students' resilience and commitment to the classroom's educational program.
