I am a speech-language pathologist and work in a preK-8th grade school in a diverse area of Phoenix. I am hoping to fund resources to expand my students' knowledge of the habitat around them. This year we would like to increase our knowledge of our desert habitat by studying the growth of butterflies and culminate that unit by a field trip to one of our Phoenix Points of Pride (and local treasure), the Desert Botanical Garden. Although many of my students have lived in the area all of their lives, most have never seen "the garden". Since I work with students from 5-15, this particular subject holds wonder and interest for all ages!
