Our students read for 20 minutes each day which helps them increase their reading level and awareness of the world around them. We use the Accelerated Reading program, and students earn points for the books they read. We help motivate our students by offering several reading competitions and prizes.
Our students come to us at a variety of reading levels. Many students start the school year below grade level, so our goal is to promote reading through a variety of interesting novels. When students have interesting books to read, they look forward to reading time instead of seeing it as a chore.
