I teach a tenth grade course called Design for Life at a public high school in New York City. Design for Life focuses on providing social-emotional support to students. It is a place where students can learn more about themselves and determine who they want to be. This course is a learning community where we all work together to help students set and achieve goals for the future. Throughout the year, we work on developing critical thinking and problem solving skills to help students succeed during and after high school.
