Whether they are discussing and debating their classroom books and nonfiction texts, or creating inquiry projects, my students are often working in small groups. A small group set of iPads would increase the creativity, engagement, and differentiation during these times. These students are already incredibly motivated and creative, so I can only imagine what they would learn and produce with this technology in their hands! From creating with iMovie to accessing our usual websites, like NewsELA and MobyMax, a group set of iPads could help us produce and accomplish so much more during class time! Students could also benefit from read-aloud texts, videos, and educational apps that would help them access grade level material without as much teacher support. The possibilities for Social Studies projects with iMovie and other Apple features are endless and would be so exciting to the students, as well. While some of my students have access to tablets at home, most do not. Having this technology in class would help level the playing field and give all students the opportunity to create unique projects and interact with engaging websites and apps. This is a truly deserving group of students who will make the most of this addition to our classroom!
