My students are socially economically challenged. They come from various poverty based neighborhoods. Many struggle every day to maintain social and academic stability. They come from very diverse backgrounds which attest the cultural cooking pot that I have in my classroom. Some have an Individual Education Plan (IEP) indicating a limited desire to learn due to the climate restrictions of the environment from which they live. My school is located in a roughly low income neighborhood that registers students that have a need for development academically, socially, and emotionally.
