The dress up clothing that I am requesting will allow my students to take on a variety of roles in our dramatic play center. Preschool children need props to remind them of what they are playing. Through make believe play they will expand their vocabulary, comprehension skills and ability to communicate effectively with others.
I teach the Tools of the Mind curriculum which stresses the importance of pretend play in the development of young children. It helps them to explore roles, play out various scenarios and problem solve. It also teaches them the importance of sharing, taking turns and being a good friend.
