My students are in grades 1-4. The have an array of disabilities seating options. These seating arrangements will enable my students to effectively work without the constraints of a traditional desk and chair. Envision a classroom that feels like a home away from home. Imagine walking into your classroom and being greeted with beanbag chairs, fluffy pillows, and the opportunity to work in an environment that works for your needs. That is how I plan to use these resources in my classroom. I have researched flexible and alternative seating for the past few years, and I feel like I am ready to set the wheels moving into a classroom where the kids are free to choose how they learn. Want to sit on a bouncy stability ball? How about using a Bouncy Band on your chair? I want my students to experience this freedom. I don't want them to feel like they are bound to their table and chair all day.
