My name is Shane Murchison and I am currently a fifth year teacher. Today I consider myself very fortunate and honored to work as a physical education teacher at Thornton Jr. High within the greater Fremont Unified School Dist. As a instructor and mentor for 7th/ 8th grade students; I work to develop specific soft skills or assets that are essential for success in today's working society (i.e. discipline, personal and social responsibility, communication, critical thinking, leadership, teamwork etc.) In addition, I also strive to model and advocate the establishment of healthy and active practices into my students normal everyday lifestyles. Im hoping with some support from peers, colleagues, friends and family I can bring new technologies to the classroom and allow for more innovative lesson plans which spark student interest, build off previous knowledge, enhance understanding, and support individual student needs.
