Students will be able to build their reading skills through practice of reading novels. Students will practice decoding of unknown words by using the strategies they have previously learned. Students will have the opportunity to learn new words as they encounter new vocabulary. Students will be working on comprehension skills as they read and discuss the story. Students will be reading in small group and discussing together. Students feel the pride and success of reading their first novel. Students will be able to follow a story, chapter by chapter, through completion.
