My 140 students range from highly gifted to general education students to special education and English Language Learners. Their cultures are as varied as their names, but one thing that unites them all is technology. While many of our students have little access to technology, most have at least a basic understanding. When given the opportunity to access today’s technological world, their enthusiasm skyrockets. Our students know there will be increasing demands on their skills with technology, and they desire to be ready to meet those demands. My students have talked after seeing videos and news reports about schools where every student has their own tablet, and can only dream of the opportunities that might open up to them.
