I coach both middle school girls and boys soccer players in a lower income neighborhood. Soccer is a priority and motivator for many of these kids. If there were enough resources it would be beneficial to keep soccer running all year long because the two months I work with the boys their teachers see a decease in behavior problems and their grades improve. These kids love soccer and will do anything to play. Some of them have practice with me after school and then tell me they have to go play in a game for another team they are on right after that. These students are dedicated, hardworking, talented athletes.
