The materials we are asking for range from everything to paintbrushes to sparkly rhinestones. It will be a great excitement for students to see these supplies and their creativity will surely be ready to burst.
My students find enjoyment in activities that are out of the ordinary. Giving them the opportunity to have access to these materials will allow them to be inspired and may even lead some to a new found love.
My second grade students in the past have loved showing off their art in our annual art show where we have to been able to share with parents and community members everything we have created. The supplies we want will help to continue our tradition and inspire the love of art into our young generation. The materials we are most excited about receiving are the canvases. Letting children complete a painting on one of these will give them something they can proudly hang at home. The markers, oil pastels, colored pencils and watercolors give students a variety of materials to work with on the different textures of paper.
