In this day and age of technology, students are beginning to have less and less experience with hands-on games/activities. Technology is an invaluable resource in the classroom, and we know that most kids also play video games at home. But, are children being given various ways to develop their imagination and fine motor skills? Are they able to explore and develop their talents in design and engineering with something tangible?
Children excel in different ways, and it is our responsibility as educators to provide every avenue possible for them to show this. I believe having Legos in the classroom will allow them to explore and develop their abilities to design and build... but most importantly, to be imaginative.
