I have fifty-five students all working on a variety of speech and language goals including articulation, syntax, vocabulary, non-literal language, and stuttering. Some of my therapy is done in various locations and lugging around a cart with materials is difficult and inefficient.
I'm requesting a Lenovo Yoga laptop computer which will be used for a variety of student and teacher needs. Having all my therapies in a digital format as well as a way to keep and track progress data will help me to maximize my students' efforts and progress, as well as make therapy more interactive and enjoyable. Many therapy materials are designed for use on a device so kids can practice therapy as they play a game. Other programs make it easy for me to pull up a customized lesson in seconds.
I have access to these therapy programs, however, the technology I currently possess is small and difficult for my students to use. A computer with a larger screen and touch-screen technology will make therapy more enjoyable for them and easier for me as their clinician.
