The students that I teach in the literacy lab at my school have varying levels of backgrounds. Their needs range from far below grade level to those that are very close to reading at a correct rate. The biggest factor that will help my students is the number of minutes they spend reading in a day. The more minutes my students can spend reading at their exact levels, the better readers they will become. This is a Title I School where 100% of students qualify for the free lunch program. Some of the students' families are stressed about other daily duties and are unable to find books for their children's reading levels.
