I am asking for these items so I can bring the very best technology to my classroom. I want my students to be engaged in the lessons and take ownership of their learning.
The Cardboards and the other items are needed to create, monitor and connect with the online Google Expedition software. The Cardboards are virtual reality views allowing the students to feel like they have stepped into another place and time. Next on my wish list is an internet router. The router will be used to connect the student's cell phones to the tablet that I will have to facilitate the virtual reality field trip. Lastly, is the ZenPad which is needed to create the activities and facilitate. Most if not all the VR software is accessed through apps and not a computer. So I would need a tablet to access the materials need to make the students experiment the best it can be. These items will allow the student go and see anywhere in the world. We can take field trips to a Mosque with discussing religions of the world. I can show the running of the bulls when we are talking about regional cultural events. It will bring a level of engagement and learning my students have yet to see.
