My students come from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. I teach boys and girls, both in general and special education classes. Some of my students have dance experience outside of the school, but most do not. However, all of the students enjoy coming to dance class. They learn standards based dance movements and vocabulary, while moving their bodies for fifty minutes per week.
The school is located in Los Angeles, California. There are many students who live in the area. There are also students who are allowed to come to the school on a permit of some kind. There is great parental involvement.
