Many of our students do not even touch a computer until they attend school. It's important that I help them learn the basics of today's technology. Headphones are needed for use with our Chromebooks. Our school has about 650 students with 57% of our students receiving free/reduced price lunch. We serve a large ESL/ELL population. These students love working on the computers and enjoy technology immensely! Use of this technology is extremely engaging to students. They love to participate in educational games and educational applications. Many of the students do not have Internet access or computers at home. Therefore school is the only place where they learn the basics of Internet navigation, use a mouse and keyboard, create a basic document, and learn Internet safety. These life skills are so vital in today's society.
