My students learn best when they use hands on learning materials and tools and participate in activities. Connecting, through stories and activities, what bees do for us and the importance of their survival, should lead to a respect and appreciation for bee and move the students to desire to help these little creatures.
The modeling wax is an excellent, concrete, reusable and multi sensory material that will show students just one of the many gifts we receive from bees.
The students will practice applying math skills such as measurement and geometry to designing and building bee houses to hang around our campus in order to support solitary bees, which are actually some of the most efficient pollinators.
