Hello! My name is Sarah Johnston. I am a 2nd grade teacher at Georgetown Elementary School in Georgetown, Delaware. My classroom consist of 20 students who come from a variety of backgrounds. More than half of my students come from low-income households and receive free or reduced-cost breakfast and lunch at school.
In addition, many of the students in my classroom come from non-English speaking backgrounds. These students receive additional support during the school day to improve their understanding of the English language. Some of the students in my classroom also receive Special Education services in the form of small-group and/or individual supports by working with a special education teacher, like myself, or a paraprofessional.
