Since most of our families do not have computers at home, and if they do, many times, they lack a fast enough connection to the Internet for it to be a viable resource, these tablets will be extremely beneficial within the classroom.
Our students live in a rural area; the big cities' skyscrapers exist in their textbooks and in their library books. We are in a high poverty area, lacking in technological infrastructures. ISPs do not invest in our geographic area due to the landscape of property ownership. Most of our families live in mobile homes on parcels of land from 1.5-2 acres in size. They see their friends mostly at school since neighborhoods are so spread out.
Our school was built in the 1970s, with only a few permanent buildings and many of our classrooms are portable buildings from the early 90s.
