I teach kindergarten in an inner city, high poverty school in North Carolina. Over half the students in our building qualify for free and reduced lunch. Many of our students are at risk in the areas of reading and math. In addition, most of the students lack literacy materials and technology tools to use at home. In my classroom, I provide hands-on learning to help my students become successful both now and later in life.
