I work with students in grades K-6 with a variety of needs. We have some students with a simple disability like language impairment. We also have some students with severe needs such as Rhett Syndrome and Downs Syndrome. My school is a high poverty school with 70% on free or reduced lunch. A majority of the students that I work with come from broken homes and do not have the materials necessary to succeed in school. They come to school hungry and with dirty clothes. My classroom is a safe place for them to learn and grow.
