Over the summer of 2014, our library roof experienced a leak and we lost our entire big book collection. My younger students enjoy being able to listen to their favorite stories in this exciting format. They are able to understand concepts of print, clearly see the words, and simply enjoy the beauty of the illustrations.
Having big books back in our collection will engage my many different students, but especially my visual learners, my ESL students, and my special education students.
Big books will create more excitement in storytime which will lead to more excitement in book check-out and at-home reading.
