My students are mainly Hispanic and live in run down housing around the area of the school. Kids come to school sometimes without bathes, clean clothes, proper shoes, or with no school supplies. They can be going through the toughest time of their little lives, but you could never know It because they love being here at school, the way they talk to you, and interact with you during the school day shows they care for the opportunity to be apart of this school. Majority of them only get the breakfast and lunch we provide here at school. Most of the students don’t come to school with proper supplies, and some just stop coming all together. But the ones that end up staying and are here every day are the best kids you could ever meet and interact with on a daily basis.
