My students are in need of two Chromebooks they can have daily access to. These Chromebooks would be an excellent addition to our classroom as they would provide tools for extra practice and connect students to extensions in learning.
Everyday holds learning moments. Each day we work on the skills and building blocks in reading and math. Students learn at different speeds and I want to support each student at their individual level. These chromebooks will be used during center times where students can log on and practice math facts with a variety of online programs that link directly with skills they need to work on. If a student needs extra practice with a specific addition skill, they can log into the Chromebooks and spend short amounts of time practicing the specific fact they need. Over time, with the repeated practice, they will memorize these facts, thus supporting their computation skills for overall math success.
Every student will also be able to have access to reading skills practice. During independent practice times, my students will be able to use computers and engage in practicing sight words or reading for understand using online programs that target their weak and strong areas.
Students will unlock our full curriculum by having access to Chromebooks daily. In our reading program, student can listen and read along with stories, practice vocabulary understanding, and write responses to reading passages. Our math program has online practice that supports each lesson I teach in the classroom. Having Chromebooks will open the doors and windows to all the opportunities they deserve.
