I teach high school English in a rural district in Pennsylvania. My students love implementing technology into the classroom and working collaboratively together. In addition, my students are highly interested in interacting with others from around the world. This is highly important to all subject areas, but especially so within the ELA curriculum. My 11th grade World Literature students are broadening their understanding of other cultures and parts of the world through literature, and any incorporation of technology is key in doing so in a meaningful way. Unfortunately, my district does not have a large amount of technology, leaving the many teachers in our building to share a very limited amount of technology resources.
My students are interested in exploring things outside of the classroom, and outside of our town. I hope to be able to give them as many opportunities as possible to do so!
