I am a Special Education Teacher working for Chicago Public Schools within an elementary school located on the Southwest side of Chicago. Over 95% of our student population are classified as low-income and receive free lunch. I am a Blended Preschool Special Education teacher in which allows me to support Diverse Learners in a General Education Classroom (Team Teaching). I currently have 14 scholars on my case load which have diagnosis of Developmental Delays and/or Speech Impairments, and Social-Emotional Disorders.
A large number (50%) of the students that I service within the blended classroom (general education and diverse learners) are English Language Learners.
