Reading may be the most important skill any child can learn. I teach children that are five or six years old. We live in a small farming community in Wisconsin. Many of the children ride a bus to and from school. About 40% of the students come from non-traditional homes. The rest of the children have both parents at home but often away at work. That leaves little time for them to be read to.
