My classroom is made up of 52 Dual Language Learners. Most of my students are attending school for the first time. Our school is in the second largest city in the state and is located in one of the lowest socio-economic areas in the city. A huge part of the student population qualifies for free lunch and comes from single-parent households. The kindergarten students in my class are eager to learn and come to school ready to learn every day, even given their hardships at home.
