Our class covers a great amount of information in a small amount of time. Allowing the students to learn these concepts through the use of an aquaponic system will help them gain a deeper understanding of the content.
Aquaponics teaches sustainability while also using key concepts taught in chemistry, hydrology, and ecology. Aquapponics will also help my students be global thinkers and engineers as many communities are turning to aquaponics as a way to solve real world problems with over population, over crowding and delivering nutrition to areas in need. Help my students by providing them the tools they need to solve these issues.
The AquaSprouts garden system along with the fish tank, Hydroplanet lamp and organic seeds will allow my students to experience creating a closed system in which they will grow organic greens that in turn gain their nutrition from the waste produced by fish. The water testing kit will help my students use skills learned in class to maintain a healthy environment for the fish to thrive in. With your help my students will gain a deeper understanding of how key concepts like chemistry play a role in delicate ecosystems, as well as allow my students to see themselves as problem solvers in their community
