Hello!The students in classroom face significant physical and developmental obstacles, but they show up every single day with a great attitude and a desire to be a part of a classroom experience. Each student needs individualized attention for almost every aspect of each lesson so our classroom would benefit from sensory tools that the students can engage with as independently as possible. The students are working to use CORE vocabulary words and these sensory tools would mesh well with their increasing understanding of requesting words and cause and effect words. The students use switches and other assistive technology. Although the students are in 6th and 7th grade, they are accessing most lessons at the sensory level, so increased engagement with sensory related materials would be a great match for them.
