Upon receiving grant funding for this project the items will be used to help students concentrate on reading a great book in the storybook center. Through having items to use for organization and relaxation students will take better interest in listening, relaxing and learning. Students will learn to concentrate and make mind movies as they explore the world of reading. Students will learn through having more opportunities to read in a calming setting that encourages them to become better listeners and readers.
The reading center will be used for free time reading which leads to increase vocabulary skills. Additionally, students will learn to appreciate that reading is fundamental, fun, and a life time requirement. Students will correlate reading to other subjects and develop a hook for reading and being read to. Lastly, students will learn to work collaboratively in a setting with their peers.
